"After the mid-summer school board meeting of 1941 the following announcement was published.
'At a recent meeting of the school boards from Spruce Hill and Turbett Townships and Port Royal Borough, it was unanimously voted to have a joint high school at Port Royal, beginning with the term this fall.
The new school will be known as the Tuscarora Valley High School.
In addition to the present courses of study an agricultural course will be added and an addition will be built to the rear of the present home economics department to take care of the new course.
