MIFFLINBURG: Harold Laverne Miller, 79, of Mifflinburg, died at 3 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, 2016, at his residence.
Born Sept. 16, 1937, in Port Royal [error Bunkertown, not PR], he was the son of the late John H. and Hattie M. (Sausman) Miller. He married Lena "Jackie" Goodman on Feb. 28, 1959, in Port Royal, who passed way on Aug. 19, 2011. They shared 52 years of marriage. On Oct. 31, 2015, he married the former Betty (Watts) Troutman, who survives.
Mr. Miller served in the United States Navy form July 4, 1955, until his honorable discharge on July 3, 1963.
He started his career with the former United Telephone Company, and retired from Sprint Telephone Company with 45 years of service.
Surviving are a daughter, Gwen (Miller) and Pat Pray of Shermansdale; a son, Brian Miller and companion Henrique Silva of Newark, N.J.; a stepdaughter and son-in-law, Beth and Lubomir Cervenansky of Selinsgrove; a stepson, Scott and Jacque Troutman of Dawfuskie Island, S.C.; grandchildren, Olney (Pray) and Jason Innerst of Ickesburg, Michael Pray of New Bloomfield, and Andy and Kalyin Troutman of West Virinia; two great grandhildren; and a sister, Helen McKee of Bunkertown.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Audrey Leach, a brother Richard Miller and a brother-in-law, Donald McKee.
Family and friends are invited to the viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene, 12 E. Market St., Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 11 with the Revs. Wayne S. Krell and Robert F. Sharman, officiating. Interment will be in the New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be sent to First Church of the Nazarene, 12 E. Market St., Mifflinburg PA 17844.
