"Judge" Joseph Pomeroy (From the Steve Freeman Collection)

Joseph Pomeroy was a son of John and Elizabeth (Nevin) Pomeroy. He was born October 18, 1804 in Lurgan Twp., Franklin Co., PA and died September 21, 1874 in Academia, Beale Twp., PA. He was married four times: Eleanor Maclay, Anna Black Crawford, Jane Eleanor McGinley and Mary Steward. He was an original stockholder of the Juniata Valley Bank and served as president of the Juniata Agricultural Society.
