Paul Wisehaupt Burd, 78, of Graham Station Road, Port Royal passed away peacefully at Stonebridge Health & Rehabilitation Center on Sunday, April 6, 2014, after a courageous 7 month battle with oral cancer.
Born February 6, 1936, in Spruce Hill Township, Paul was the son of the late Mary E. Wisehaupt and Harry A. Burd.
Surviving is his wife, Marian (Kerlin) Potter Burd, whom he married July 8, 1994.
Paul is survived by a brother, Carl W. Burd and wife Frances, Academia.
Surviving children are: Paul Wm. Burd and wife Troy of Spruce Hill, Gerald I. Burd and wife Laura of Ohio, Arlene Watts and husband Harry of Mexico, stepdaughters Lori M. Potter and companion Scott Lawrence of Crescent City, FL and Missy Potter Becker and husband Steve of Mexico, 7 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his first wife, Janet L. (Traxler) Burd in 1992 and an infant son in 1966.
For over 50 years, he drove truck all over the United States for various companies. He retired from Zimmerman Truck Lines, Inc., Mifflintown in 2010.
Paul's favorite pastime was watching NASCAR, football and baseball, but his
greatest joy was attending his grandchildren and great-grandchildren's soccer and softball games,
Arrangements were entrusted to Auer Cremation Services of PA, Harrisburg.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
