OBITUARY for RACHEL MARGARET BRACKBILL WEAVER

LANCASTER - Rachel Margaret Weaver, 75, of Lancaster, passed into our Savior's Loving Arms at home, encircled by her husband and six children, on Friday, Nov. 27, 2009.

Born in Port Royal, she was the wife of Lowell E. Weaver and they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on June 5. She was the daughter of the late Daniel G. and Myrtle E. Smith Brackbill.

Rachel was a member of Faith Evangelical Congregational Church where she was a member of the Faithful Seniors Group. She loved to garden, both inside and outside the home, enjoyed watching hummingbirds, taking trips to see lighthouses, and listening to southern gospel music. Most of all she was wholly and completely devoted to her family and her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by six children: Brian L., husband of Debra Weaver, Mountville; Melvin L. Weaver, Lancaster; Lucinda F., wife of Thomas Hellinger, Lancaster; Roger N. Weaver, Ephrata; Judy K. Weaver, Lancaster; Rebecca L., wife of David Zuber, Lancaster; seven grandchildren, Tammy Heist, Stephanie, Justin, Allison, Casey Hellinger, Salvatore and Zachary Zuber; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Skylar Heist; five Sisters, Vera Harpster, Edna Lauver, Anna Fry, Mildred Hendricks, and Dorene Adams; two brothers, Earle and Elmer Brackbill.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Trudy Gay Weaver.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Rachel's Life Celebration Funeral Service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at Faith Evangelical Congregational Church, 2124 Old Philadelphia Pike, Lancaster, PA 17602, with The Rev. Joel Kime and the Rev. Donald Wert officiating. Interment will be at Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Funeral Home of Fred F. Groff, Inc., 234 W. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17603, and at the church from 9 a.m. until time of service on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604 or Faith Evangelical Congregational Church.
