Larry Sheerer was a son of Charles E. and Dorothy (Bailor) Sheerer. He graduated from Tuscarora Valley High School in the Class of 1967.

The following note appeared in the Sept. 8, 1976 edition of the Port Royal Times: "Larry Clinton Sheerer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Sheerer, Milford Street, Port Royal, received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Radio-Television-Film from the University of Texas School of Communications."
