OBITUARY:

LEWISTOWN: KENNETH L. SHOWERS, 49, of Main Street, Port Royal, died unexpectedly late Monday afternoon at the FMC Plant where he was employed.

He was born March 23, 1924, in Mifflin to the late Joseph C. and Clara Hersh Showers. He was married to the former Evelyn Miller who survives.

Also surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Harry (Wanda) Boyer of Port Royal RD2 and Miss Lori Ann, at home, three brothers, Albert M. of Harrisburg, Dr. Lloyd W. of Mifflintown RD1 and William F. of Wilmington, Del, a sister, Mrs. Clarence (Beulah) Leister of Mifflin and two grandchildren.

Showers was a veteran of World War II, a member of the Port Royal Lutheran Church, president of the church council, a member of the Port Royal Fire Company and TWUA local union.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 am in the Guss Funeral Home in Mifflintown with the Rev. Henry G. Springer officiating, assisted by the Rev. Paul W. DeLauter. Friends will be received at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 9 pm. Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery.
