Jane Carolyn Book was the daughter of Charles Marley and Annie Elizabeth (Oberholtzer) McCahan. She was born about about 1911 and died November 1, 1958. She graduated from Port Royal High School in the Class of 1927. She was married to Roy Daniel Book.

LARGE SNAKE: Jane Book (l) and Foster Kepner (r) hold a large 8 foot Boa Constrictor that Jane found on the Albert Sarver property on Milford Street of Port Royal. The snake apparently escaped from a carnival side show at the Juniata County Fairgrounds. The snake was shot by Foster and Jane's brother Walter McCahan. (September 1947)
