Harry Franklin "Bud" Swartz was the son of Harry S. and Frances (Kerchner) Swartz. He was born November 1, 1911 and died October 10, 1997. He graduated from Port Royal High School in the Class of 1930. He was married to Florence Arlene Winey.

OBITUARY for HARRY F. "BUD" SWARTZ

Harry F. "Bud" Swartz, 85, of Port Royal RR2, died at 4:40 p.m. Friday, October 10, 1997 at the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital.

Born November 1, 1911 in Beale Township, Juniata County, he was the son of the late Harry S. and Frances [Kerchner] Swartz. His wife, Arlene [Winey] Swartz, whom he married on May 13, 1941, survives. Also surviving are: daughters, Mrs. John [Dorothy] Henderson, Port Royal, and Mrs. Lester [Vera] Zimmerman Jr., Mifflintown; sons, Karl B. Swartz Gainesville, FL, and Rodney P. Swartz, Gettysburg; sisters, Mrs. Helen Boyer, Port Royal RR1, and Mrs. Alice Ritzman, Brookline Manor Convalescent Home, Mifflintown RR 1, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was a retired farmer and a 1930 graduate of Port Royal High School. He was a member of Port Royal Lutheran Church, Union Lodge No. 324 F&AM and Tall Cedars of Lebanon Juniata Forest No. 88, both of Mifflintown.

Graveside services were held Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Nook, Juniata County, with Rev. Kathleen M. Kinney officiating. Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, was in charge of arrangements.
