This house sits on the northeast corner of the intersection of Market and Sixth Streets. (This house was constructed prior to 1889 because it appears on the Sanborn Fire Insurance Map of that year.)

At one time this house was owned by Melvin and Maude (Kurtz) Ernest. They operated a boarding house during part of their ownership of the property. In the Spring of 2009 the house was owned by Elizabeth Smith.
