EASTERN GATEWAY TO PORT ROYAL: Until the four lane interstate highway (Route 322) was constructed, vehicular traffic entering Port Royal from the east would travel south from Mifflintown or north from Mexico on the William Penn Highway (old 322) until it intersected with Route 75. At that intersection visitors or residents would turn onto Route 75, descend Tyson's Hill, cross the Juniata River Bridge and enter the town on the east end of Market Street.

For about twenty to thirty years after World War II, this was the location of Shoffstalls Restaurant. Later that location would house the Tuscarora Valley Branch of the Pennian Bank (formerly First National Bank of Mifflintown).
