OBITUARY for JAMES H. ‘JIM’ HOSLER SR.
James H. "Jim" Hosler Sr., 88, of Port Royal, passed away Sunday morning, July 10, 2016, at his home.
Born Jan. 11, 1928 in Spruce Hill Twp., Juniata Co., he was the son of the late Lawrence V. and Laura Mae (Kirk) Hosler.
Surviving is his wife, Emma Jane (Shearer) Hosler, whom he married on July 2, 1947.
Also surviving are two sons, James H. Hosler Jr. and wife, Rena, of Thompsontown, and John E. Hosler and wife, Linda, of Port Royal; four grandchildren, Michael Hosler, Kelly Hosler Beward, Jason Hosler, and Joseph Hosler; and four great- grandchildren, Elizabeth and Grace Beward, and Carter and Kenzie Hosler.
Jim was a 1946 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown.
He owned and operated the Hosler's Excavating Company, Port Royal.
Mr. Hosler was a member of the Matamoras United Methodist Church, and also was a lifetime member of both the Beale Twp. Fire Company and the NRA.
His funeral will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 13, at the Matamoras United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry J. Brosius officiating.
Interment will follow at the Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Academia.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal.
