He is the last of his generation, having been preceded in death by three brothers; John S. Walters Sr., P. William Walters, Jay M. Walters; and a sister, Thelma M. Saylor.

Mr. Walters proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II in the European theater, engaging in battle in Normandy and Rhineland.

During his retirement, he served as the custodian of the Messiah Lutheran Church, Mifflintown, and for the Juniata Valley Bank, Port Royal.

Dutch always had a joke and loved to tell stories. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, hunting, mowing his lawn, watching and feeding the birds and going to hunting camp; however, he cherished the moments that he spent with family and friends, especially his granddaughters and great- grandchildren.
