OBITUARY for CHARLES LEE SWARTZ
Charles Lee ''Pap'' Swartz, 60, of Port Royal peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones at 1:09 p.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2013, at the M. S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
Charles was born on May 8, 1952 in Harrisburg, a son of the late Vincent W. and Ruth A. [Strawser] Swartz.
He was formerly employed at Mark Apple Fruit Farm, Richfield and delivered the Lewistown Sentinel newspaper.
Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing. making crafts, antique cars and model cars. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Charles is survived by his fiancee Esther Sarver of 23 years; three children, Daryl Walton and Denise Deckman of Port Royal. and Constance Walters and husband Michael of Mifflin; four stepchildren, Bruce Goodling and companion Beth Marshall of McAlisterville; Rose Layton and husband Thomas of Port Royal, Esther Shetter and husband Randy Jr. of Mt. Pleasant Mills, and Candy Sarver and companion Anthony Kleckner of Millerstown; five grandchildren. ten step-grandchildren and a step-great-granddaughter; five brothers and sisters: Connie Mathers and husband Barry of McAlisterville, William ''Bill'' Swartz and wife Connie of Michigan, Raymond Swartz of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Marlene Hummel and husband Peron of Freeburg, and Paul Swartz and wife Virginia ''Ginny'' of Port Royal; many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by a brother, Darvin Swartz, in infancy and a sister-in-law, Cindy Swartz.
Services will be held at a later time by the family. Should friends desire, memorial monetary gifts may be made in loving memory of Charles to the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, lnc., 9366 Route 35. Mt. Pleasant Mills. PA 17853 to assist the family with the funeral expenses.
