OBITUARY for JEROME H. MOYER

PORT ROYAL: JEROME H. MOYER, 88, of RR1 Port Royal, died at 2:56 a.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2004 at Lewistown Hospital.

Born August 18, 1915 in Beale Township. Juniata County, he was a son of the late Harry N. and Anna Minnie (Kerchner) Moyer. His wife, M. Adrienne (Earnest) Moyer, preceded him in death on Nov. 1, 2000.

Surviving are sons Ernest H. Moyer, Thompsontown, James N. Moyer, Milroy and John H. Moyer, HC 67, Mifflin; siblings Mary Pearl Yoder, Mifflintown, Isabelle K. Yoder, R.R. 1, Port Royal and Harry R. Moyer, R.R. 2 Port Royal; 4 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Early in his life he was a farmer and in 1960 he started working as a carpenter until his retirement.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII.

He was a member of the Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, Academia and was a life member of the Beale Township Fire Company in Walnut.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, Academia with Rev. Harold N. Imes. Interment will be in Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Academia.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal.
