OBITUARY for MARLIN B. KAUFFMAN

Marlin B. KAUFFMAN, 78, of Blairs Mills, died April 1, 2004, at Woodland Retirement Center in Orbisonia.

Born March 14, 1926, in Port Royal, he was the son of the late Jesse and Edna (Walters) Kauffman. He was united in marriage to Martha A. Goshorn March 22, 1947, in Port Royal.

He is survived by his wife at home, one daughter Eileen Parsons of Chambersburg, one son, Carl Kauffman of Fort Loudon; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Four sisters survive: Iris Liskey of Myerstown, Gloria Sieber of Mifflintown and Joan Yetter and Bernice Page, both of Port Royal.

Mr. Kauffman was a member of the Richvale United Methodist Church, Blairs Mills, for the past 55 years. He was very active in the church and its functions. He was also a life member of the Shade Gap Area Volunteer Fire Co. and a member of the Tuscarora Grange.

Mr. Kauffamn was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy from Aug. 10, 1944, to June 30, 1946. In 1982, he retired from Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg.

Funeral services will be held April 4, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home in Orbisonia, with the Rev. Virginia Eminhizer officiating. Interment will be made in Shade Valley Cemetery, Blairs Mills.
