BARNEY GRAY prepares a car for the Annual Sprint Car Drop on New Year's Eve, 2011. Barney organized the first drop for December 31, 2008 to bring in the New Year. It has been an annual event since then. A car is hoisted on a construction crane high above the town and dropped to the ground at the stroke of midnight.
