OBITUARY for WALTER RICHARD "DICK" DEEN

W. RICHARD "DICK" DEEN, 55. Port Royal RRI, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday May 27, 1992. from injuries he suffered in a vehicle accident in Mount Joy Township, Lancaster County.

Born October 26, 1936. in Spruce Hill Township Juniata County, he was a son of William C. and Sara E. [Dentler] Deen of Part Royal RR1. His wife, Sandra L. (Schell] Deen, whom be married August 12, 1961, survives.

Also surviving are: children, Richard K. Deen, Harrisburg, Sheree M. [Deen] Bowmansdale; sisters, Mrs. Jerry [Kathryn] Ryan, Harrisburg, Roma Deen Barry, Mechanicsburg; and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, William George Deen.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was a millwright for Hershey Mechanical Contractors. Camp Hill, and owner of Pleasant View Store, Port Royal RR1, and was also a farmer.

He was a graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Class of 1955.

He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, and was church and cemetery trustee for many years, member of Spruce Hill Grange 772, Pomona Grange 35, Carpenter's Union Local 287, Union Loge 324 F&AM. Mifflintown, Harrisburg Consistory, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Juniata Forest 88, National Rifleman's Association, VFW Post 5863. Mifflintown, American Legion Post 298, Mifflintown and Juniata County Sportsmen's Association.

Services were held Saturday al the Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal, with Rev. Gerald D. Wager and Pastor David Biser, officiating. Interment was in New Church Hill cemetery Port Royal.
