Robert Taylor was a son of Chauncey Steely and Pearl E. (McCormick) Taylor. He was a 1954 graduate of Tuscarora Valley High School in Port Royal, PA.

OBITUARY for ROBERT ANDREW TAYLOR

Robert Andrew Taylor, 88, of Anderson, South Carolina, passed from this life peacefully at the home of his son, on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in Cookeville, Tennessee.

Bob was born on March 10, 1935, Port Royal, PA. He was the son of Chauncey Steely and Pearl Esther (McCormick) Taylor.

Bob served three years in the US Army with 18 months in Korea. He received a Bachelors and Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State. He worked for Chrysler Space Division for twelve years on the Apollo program. In 1976 he joined the Cotton Quality Research Laboratory in Clemson, where he received national awards for his work in the development of instruments for grading cotton and improving manufacturing. Bob had an enormous zest for life and spent his final years playing golf with friends, working on his farm in Sandy Springs, SC, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Mary Frances (Barker) Taylor, three sons, Stephen, Daniel (Lynn), Bart (Claire), and his twelve grandchildren, Grace Johnson (Andrew), Hannah Taylor, Phoebe Bickford (Matthew), Daniel Taylor (Hannah), Michael Taylor, Olivia Messon (Ellis), Kira, Logan, Hudson, Mia, Sophia, and Asher Taylor, and seven great-grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by, 8 Brothers, James, Jack, Chauncey, Jr., Kenneth, Graham, David, Richard, and Ronald Taylor, and Sister, Helen Goshorn.

Private graveside funeral services will be held at Pine Bluff Cemetery in Dentville, MS at a later date.
