OBITUARY for SINDRA “SIS” E. LAWSON

MlFFLlN: Sindra E. 'Sis' Hockenberry Lawson, 66, of HC 67, Mifflin (Walnut), went to be with the Lord at 9:25 p.m., Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born Dec. 28, 1940, in Tuscarora, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mabel (Lehman) Hockenberry.

She is survive by her husband, Robert, of 46 years, son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Doris, of Pleasant Gap, daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Mike Rogowicz, of Mechanicsburg; six grandchildren, Lindsey, Kevin, Andrew, Shane, Brian, and Alicia; six great-grandchildren, Koltin, Collen, Aleah, Kody, Hunter and Logan; sisters, Bessie McNaughton, Kate Hoffman, Rosie Ziegler, Grace Campbell, and Violet Reed; and brother Wilmont Hockenberry.

She was preceded in death by brothers Harry and Samuel, and sister, Anne Campbell.

Sindra Hockenberry was a 1959 graduate of Tuscarora Valley High School.

She worked at Empire Kosher Poultry, Mifflintown, until retiring on disability. She was a member of Tuscarora Church of the Brethren and Millerstown Moose Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

Her funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. James Park Bricker officiating.

Interment will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Nook.

There will be no viewing, but the family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home.

The family will provide all funeral flowers and requests memorial contributions be made to National Breast Cancer Foundation, 2600 Network Blvd., Suite 300, Frisco, TX 75034.
